Francisco Herrero

Francisco Herrero,  violinist from San Sebastián, completed his advanced violin studies at the San Sebastián Conservatory and continued his training with a scholarship from the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, at the Sion Conservatory (Switzerland) with Tibor  Varga. During his  studies he received several awards in national and international competitions. 

 

Throughout his career, he has successfully combined the performance of classical music with that of other musical genres, especially Basque folklore. In 1999, he co-founded Alos Quartet, a group that fuses classical and folk music, with which he has released several albums and toured internationally. He has also collaborated with several prestigious orchestras, such as the Basque Symphony Orchestra and the Seville Baroque Orchestra, and has participated in numerous projects with artists from various genres.

 

For more than 25 years, he has been a violin teacher at the Errenteriako Herri Arte Eskola, where he has trained numerous students, some of whom have gone on to pursue high-level musical careers.
